I bought this car in Nebraska around 1989 for $65 and it has only 15000 mile on it.
Owner sold it to me out of spite for his son, I was VERY happy to help him out!

He bought the car new and was trying to keep the miles low and was going to keep
the car for shows later in life. His son had other ideas about it and would steal the
car anytime his dad was out of town and would beat the car. The son wanted it
and wanted to make a hot rod of it.

One night while his dad was out, he found the keys and took the car out for a joy
ride and got it stuck in a ditch. He tried to get it out by putting it in reverse and
forward over and over again, he burned up the transmission doing so. His dad had
it towed home and a couple of weeks later he saw me at a gas station in one of my
Magnums and asked me if I was interested in buying a Magnum or parts. I
said "yes I am.

Well we went out to his place and I found a Beautiful black Magnum sitting there
next to his barn. I asked him how much for the whole car, He replied $300!

I could not beleive he was selling it for so little? That's when he told me about his
son.
I told him that I only had $65 dollars on me and asked if I could give him that as a
down payment until Friday(Two days away) He then asked me if I could pick the
car up before 6:00pm because he wanted it gone before his son came home. I
said "Yes I can" He than handed me the title and gave it to me for the $65 I had.

I was able to drive it home with some slipping from the transmission. My friend
next door begged me to sell it to him for $4000 the next day. He didn't get it!Tongue

Well, the Magnum I was driving at the time was bought for $100! I drove by this
house every day going to work that had a good looking White Magnum XE sitting
in it's driveway. I finaly got up the nerve to knock on the door to ask about it. An
older woman came to the door and I asked if the car happened to be for sale? She
said it had a blown motor and that I could have it for $100. I called my buddy to
bring a truck with a dolly to take it home, thinking to use it for parts as it had a
near-perfect interior and body.

I then paid her and we started to wench it onto the dolly, when she commented that
it back fired and sputtered when you tried to start it????? We stopped loading it and
I open the hood and poured some gas into the carb and my buddy tried to start it. To
my amazment it started! It did run but rough, then I noticed the distributor jumping
around??? Needless to say I turned it til the engine smoothed right out and tightened
it down. It was a very reliable work car from that day on. Big Grin
