My 1963 Dart Project..
So I picked up this 63 2 door post car a while back. 170, 3 on da tree. My direction.....think Hurst S/C Rambler. I am going to do a what if car and build a "Hurst Dart". I am building a very healthy naturally aspirated 225 long rod slant 6 and it will be backed with an A833 overdrive with 4.30 gears. Aiming for 250 HP. I know it will be a challenge. Here is the car.

Here are the pistons. KB239 for the Chrysler non turbo 2.2 four cylinder. Using the 198 slant 6 rods will give me a possible compression ratio of 10.7:1, although I am going to blueprint an actual 9.5.

Here is my head. It has been machined for 1.78 and 1.50 stock 318 valves and the bowls have been relieved. I have more porting work to be done. I have other pictures of the head I could not find. I will take some more and post later.

Sweet, Looks like a fun project. Kinda cool how parts from a 2.2l are going into this engine! Smile

Hate to say it, but it's nice to see something else other than a Magnum or Cordoba here! Laugh

RE: My 1963 Dart Project..
Yes, the 2.2L piston shares the same piston pin diameter as the slant. A STD bore 2.2 piston is only .045" over from the STD bore slant. The pin location is perfect for use as you will end up about .012" in the hole at TDC with a blueprinted deck block. So, you can see zero deck height is easily attainable for even more squish. Also note that the valve reliefs are in the right location as well. Kinda cool how that all works out.

RE: My 1963 Dart Project..
No, I am still hung with finding a new sheen shop. The last one lost my trust after the block had been there three weeks, they called and said it was done. I went to pick it up and they had not touched it. So I loaded it up and brought it home. I know where I am going to take it. It is just a bit of a ride.

Damn Rob I hate to hear that. Glad you found a new Machine Shop that will do your block the way you want it.
