10's in the Kitty
Well I broke 2 things yesterday. Broke into the 10's with Linda's Hellcat and twisted the driveshaft like a pretzel.
Was a perfect track day. 60 degrees, sunny, tailwind and sticky track.
My times improved each run, launch was key
Run 1 - 11.10 but real soft launch (off idle)
Run 2 - 11.08 launch off 1500 rpm with much better burnout
Run 3 - 10.92 launch off 1800 rpm (2nd best hook of the day)
Run 4 - Kaboom driveshaft went bye bye (best hook of the day)
Car is downright amazing (there is a 10.8x in this car stock). All I did was throw DR's on the car. Even had 3/4 tank of fuel. Touched nothing else and let the car shift by itself.

Too bad I had to trailer it home ???

DSS aluminum DS on order.

RE: 10's in the Kitty
Congrats on getting into the 10's!!! Smile

I'm sure you know the Drive Shaft is the week link that goes first.

Does the modding begin? or you just going to use the warranty and get a replacement?

Other than D R's my first Mod to my car was having a DSS Aluminum drive shaft installed.

My Best ET for DR's and AL Drive Shaft was 10.8. and it was stinking Hot humid and in the 90's.

I agree these Hellcats are a lot of fun.

Linda Smile

RE: 10's in the Kitty
Thanks! I read lots about DS breakage so I figured it was a good possibility it might go. Kind of mad at myself. I should of changed it out before racing. Gonna get a DSS aluminum but still want the dealer to replace the bad one with a stock unit. It messed up a heat shield as well.

RE: 10's in the Kitty
Linda and Craig, are ya'll running pump gas at the track? Just curious since I bought 4 cans of MS109 for the mile and wondering if it'll be worthwhile to throw a can in Marks HC at the mile. I was going to order C16 since I don't have cats, but decided since my car was tuned with 109 I'd go with that in case any of the leaded guys needed any as I generally get an extra can just in case we get extra runs Sunday afternoon as it thins out.
