Is there anything that can be done?

Is there anything that can be done?
Here be the sitichy-A-shen....

Worried about 8lbs of boost on the stock bottom over the Mile. Water/meth, or N2O would certainly help with the cooling of the boosted air which would help the pistons live to fight a little bit longer, BUT, I'm not a fan of spraying through the SC rotors. Pros and cons I know, but I'm just not a fan of it. Again, it is probably the only option, and of the two, I would prefer water/meth.

Anything else? Ice box? Would that really do much over that distance?

I honestly do not know, looking for advice...

Wot I would not worry about it, if the tune is good it is good. If you are overly concerned or a pussy put on the 6# pulley Laugh

Somehow I knew you would figure out how to call me a pussy. LMAO

6lbs is not an option, may as well run N/A. Just curious, water meth is easy, but I've seen some nasty pics of the effects of it on coated rotors.

Ask AJ but I think it is a non issue, if the tune is good you are fine . Why are you changing gears? You can't reach the top speed a 3.92 gear is capeable of doing?

Cause I'm at 3k rpms at 80mph, and I'm seeing roughly 300 rpm's per 5mph of speed in top gear...if that continues in a linear fashion, I would disagree with you. 3.23 or 3.55 would be better, but 3.06 is readily available.

What is your trans gear ratio in your top gear?

all gears...

1st Gear - 3.59:1
2nd Gear - 2.19:1
3rd Gear - 1.41:1
4th Gear - 1.00:1
5th gear - 0 .83:1

Duh, auto. Laugh

I guess if I wanted to get technical about it, I would look at a dyno graph and see where power drops off and optimize a gear selection that way.

Now I am starting to over think.....ugh. LMAO

I'm actually looking at that anyway for daily driving.

RE: Is there anything that can be done?
We're over 185 with a 3.92 on the six speed, but it's tapped out and are shifting at 6500. Going to a 3.55 and 29" tire.
The even bigger aggravation with the 3.92 is getting out of the hole. Even babying it out, when you try to get on it in third, the michelins break loose.

And 5th and 6th are .74 & .5 if memory serves, more overdrive to work with.

RE: Is there anything that can be done?
6th is useless, and we're at the very, very top in 5th, thus the change. Apparently the 8lb number is 172.1 or something like that as Kenny and Mike ran it identically. Smile

I always thought the car would be better with a 3.55 from early on. I guess we'll see in the next couple months.

Exactly my point. 3.92 on an auto would be less.
