Mopar 408's 71 Scamp
Ok boys and girls...

I've had this car since Feb of 98. The last few it hasn't gotten much love with the Challenger being the focus. When I got it, it was a beaten 318/904 car with a grinding sound coming from the 7 1/4" rear. It was painted Sherwin Williams House Paint Green that was applied with a roller at best.

Key Stats:

435HP / 402 Magnum Crate Motor

Converted to a Tremec 5spd

8 3/4" Rear with 3.91s

Converted Discs in the front

Upgraded suspension - .990" Torsion Bars, poly bushings, superstock springs, front sway bar.

Here is what she looks like:

RE: Mopar 408's 71 Scamp
Well, I'm finally starting to get interested in this car again. It needs a few things as a year or so ago, I found a family of mice had made it their home for the winter. Needs new carpet, and rear seats redone. Needs the wiring gone through behind the dash (I think they mostly screwed with the radio but need to double check. More info and pics to come as work begins this winter.

The challenge with any project is seeing progress. I notice once I start going on something and see changes with an end in sight I become more motivated. Unfortunately for the wife it means I spend more time in the garage Laugh

Nice car Rob. Love the pic of the shiny new small block. Our modern Mopars have so much crap on them you hardly see the block or heads.

You got all winter to finish her up. Laugh

RE: Mopar 408's 71 Scamp
Ok....so I barely touched her this last year. However, my daughter called me out about a month ago. She told me she wants to learn to drive stick. She was going to learn on either the Challenger or the Scamp - my choice!! Laugh Seeing that the Challenger tranny seems to be made of glass, and the fact that the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree, I decided it will be the old Scamp. Time to start putting her back together!

The mouse damage was more intense than I originally thought, and since my old speedo sending had died...time for an upgrade.

New wiring and gauge cluster underway:

The new speedo is GPS based so no more speedo sending unit!

Trying to really nail the wiring on this. No rats nest!

Hope to finish up the gauge wiring this week!
